Union Plus provides $150,000 in scholarships annually to retired or active members who belong to a union participating in any of the Union Plus programs.
The Denver Newspaper Guild Newsroom Bargaining Unit meeting Tuesday was well attended, with about 20 members showing up to vote on leadership for the unit.
“Trade agreements are no longer just about tariffs and quotas. They are about the food we eat, the air we breathe, the jobs we hold. We cannot abdicate this process to non-elected representatives,” Larry Cohen said.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a massive, secret trade deal that’s being negotiated among 12 countries on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Negotiations have been going on behind closed doors for more than three years and are nearing their end.
The Denver Post Newsroom Bargaining Unit will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21 in the 10th floor lunchroom in the Denver Post building.
