A newspaper with more than 100 years of history and multiple Pulitzer Prizes is looking for an owner who cares about Denver, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Empire, as well as an unfettered press to watch over them.

It’s official — MediaNews Group has merged with 21st Century Media, formerly the Journal Register Company. The new concern will operate as Digital First Media. So long, MediaNews Group.
John Paton gave a talk at the Global Editors Network News Summit in Paris on June 21. It was titled, “When Theory Meets Numbers Meets Media: R = ([(P*Q)+P] + [(D*G)+D] + C – E) * (P+D+C).” In it he lays out what he thinks the future holds for media companies and initiatives being undertaken by Digital First Media.
